Such a cute little girl!!

I know I never really write anything about Autumn so I figured I could post a few things about her. She's 3 1/2 months & she is right on track as far as how she's developing. She has a lot to say, but of course it's all baby talk. I think she thinks she's saying something though because she'll just go on and on and on even if no one is listening. She's rolling over (as long as mommy isn't in the room) and she's SO close to sitting up on her own. She can stand up with us only holding her hands and then she can hold her own weight while only holding onto one of Wes' fingers. She's SUPER strong, but that's to be expected because she's such a big baby.

She's always very aware of her surroundings and has even started recognizing our truck when we pull into the driveway in the afternoon to pick her up after work.

She loves to watch the dogs and she loves to be outside. If she's feeling fussy you can just walk outside with her and she'll immediately stop fussing. She's always super happy no matter who is holding her ( i hope she keeps that trait). She looks more like mommy but still has daddy's ears and daddy's dimples. She is sleeping through the night every night and when she wakes up is when she's most likely to talk or roll over or any other tricks that she likes to show off.

She's really just the best baby ever.

Still pregnant at 37 weeks. My date to be induced is the 24th. I had a doc appointment on tuesday and I was 1/2cm dilated so it looks like baby Autumn will be stay in there until the 24th! :) Eleven more days!

I have had two showers. The first was at work (pictures to come later) and the second was thrown by Wes' mom. I haven't gotten anyone else's pictures for that one yet either but, I figure I can tell you about the cake. I love to make cakes even though I'm really no good at it. So, Wes' mom, Karen came over to the house and we made a great cake together for the shower. It took over 4 hours to get that thing done. I'm talking a lot of work here.

The finished product turned out really nicely... even though it's kind of messy looking.

Karen and I noticed it was leaning a little bit but, we stuck it in the fridge and didn't worry about it. a little bit of a lean wasn't a big deal because it would still taste really good and it was pretty cute. Wes came home and thought it was really adorable. He mentioned the lean but... seriously, it wasn't that bad so it wasn't a big deal. Then... we woke up the next morning to get ready for the shower.

It was no longer a small lean. The green layer had pretty much collapsed and the rest of the cake was in serious danger of falling over. Wes and I tried to do some damage control but the cake was ruined.

Try to imagine with me, if you will... a woman, 8 months pregnant, who spent 4 hours standing over a cake to make it look perfect... and the disappointment she felt (hormones raging) when the cake died. I cried for like an hour. It wasn't pretty. lol

Wes' mom went and bought some cake from Primo's (the professionals) and we ate that. They made me bring the ugly cake anyway so that everyone could see how hard I worked. It was embarassing. lol Here are a few pictures from the shower, more to come when I get them.

35 Weeks

This is Autumn and I at work. :) She's 35 weeks and the doctor estimates that she is about 6.5lbs!! We have 2 more weeks until she is full term and I can safely go into labor & we've been set to induce on the 23rd of March. I hope I don't make it that far.

I have received my very first BIG baby gift. It's something I have wanted for so so long. My gramma (mom's mom) bought it for me and it's really quite comfortable. Not only that, but I managed to get them to give it to me for half price because it was delivered to their store by mistake. Who can say no to a pregnant woman?!?! I mean, I had to do things like sit my purse down and pretend like I couldn't reach down to pick it up... it made the salesman feel sorry for me and like he wanted to help me. Hey, there's no shame in that... we are in a recession people!!

Anyway, I'm waiting to get the matching ottoman because he wouldn't give me a discount on that but I'll get it soon and then Autumn and I will be able to rock to sleep at night!! :)

January 7th Picture

Well, it's official. I'm humungous. I look like I have a pillow stuffed under my shirt, but no... it's just my abnormally large child. haha!

I went to the doctor yesterday and was told that while normal babies at this stage are about 3lbs. Autumn is about 3lbs & 9oz. I blame Wes. He was a huge baby and Autumn had no choice in the matter. She's very healthy and since she's growing so well the doctor doesn't seem to be concerned about the single vessel in her umbilical cord. She is breech though, so we're praying every night that she'll turn over. It will be her very first little thing that she learns if she listens and actually does it! :) I mean, we'll count it as the first time she rolled over.

I've decided that Autumn's room is not going to be a big deal until she's ready to make it into something that she likes. I'm still going to include a slight "garden" theme with the crib set & maybe some little pictures on the wall but I'm going to make everything basically neutral girly so that when she's ready she can add her own flair. I think I'll still include a little canopy over her crib and maybe some small instects or flowers on the wall... but nothing huge. I think it will be more fun for her to have a blank canvas when she's deciding how she wants her room to look.
My friend Karen & her husband really asked for their daughters advice when they were re-doing her room and had a lot of fun hearing her opinion. They were able to make her room into the perfect princess get away because they knew exactly what she wanted. I'm looking forward to that day.

As far as her song goes I've decided on the song that you hear playing when you open this page. It's called "When You Come Back Down" by Nickelcreek. It's a song that Wes and I both love and something I know will always make me think of her.

We are in the process of buying a house. Well, before we get in there I'd like to get everything painted the way I want it. I've already decided that Autumn's room will be "garden" themed but I'd like to add little fairies to that. I'm trying to think about what to paint on the wall. Nothing is over the top because whatever I want can be built by Wes. I want to put a little canopy over her crib & have like little dragonflies and ladybugs all over it. I want little mushrooms with fairies sitting on top of them on the wall maybe. I'd like some lightning bugs, & love bugs, & flowers. My friend Hollie did a huge tree with a swing in her daughters room.
But... I"m trying to think more on a garden level rather than a park. I was thinking of putting a little white picket (sp?) fence on one of the walls... really I'm just open to any kinds of ideas that anyone has. I'd really just like it to be sort of a little garden get away.

The girls got a new pillow for Christmas... but Mickey hogs the whole thing.

Wes convinced me that the turtles needed something for Christmas too. It's a floating log. They really do love it, The turtle that you see here is named Toad & the other turtle that you can't see is named Bowzer.... yeah.

She's begging for food. She stands right outside of the kitchen and looks at me like she just doesn't understand why I won't give her something to eat.

Christmas presents from the grandparents... Mickey HATED the reindeer ears...

They wouldn't fit on Phoebe though, so I had to test them out. She'll grow to love them.

I’m talking, only time in my whole life. Well, Wes’ story is that I slammed him up against the wall and started making out with him… then I told him he needed to go home. I don’t remember it… and I’m not sure I believe him, and here’s why… I would NEVER be so rude as to tell someone they needed to leave my party!
Who asked who out first? Well, after our first kiss, he was hooked. I still think it’s unlikely that it happened that way… but it explains why he was completely in love after the first time he met me. I’m a great kisser. ;-)
Who wears the pants? Wes, for sure. Obviously we’re in it together but I like to think I know my role.
What is one of the best things that he does that you love? I love when he watches me when I’m not looking. I love when he tries to think of a spot that he hasn’t kissed yet. I love when he’s super sweet to the puppies. I love when he talks to the baby. I love when he does something because he knows it’s something I’ll love like… going to something artsy, or starting to watch LOST, or suffering through one of my favorite TV shows. I love when he says something that is not typical… like how his favorite actress is Jodie Foster, or how he doesn’t chew gum, or the way he always thinks of better ways to get things done. I love how he loves the Colts. I love how he’s so charismatic & everyone just loves him… seriously, who hates this man?! I know no one! & I love that he loves me SO much, that I could never doubt it.

Autumn's Song

My mother, being the closet sentimental that she is, chose songs for all of her children while she was pregnant with us. Those songs stuck with us until... well, forever. Even now, when she hears them she gets all choked up. Well, mainly when she hears my brother's (Jesse's) song because it's all slow and sweet and she likes him more than she likes Geoffery or I. It's cool, we're ok with it because he'll get stuck with her when she's too old to drive. :-)
The way she kept these songs close to her heart throughout our entire lives has meant so much to each of us. She'd rock us to sleep with them, or just sing them to us randomly. I remember one time we were at a grocery store or something and she had to go to the bathroom, so to keep us occupied so that we wouldn't walk around looking at people under the stalls or something equally embarassing that children do in public bathrooms... she sang our songs to us. I used to cry when she sang Jesse's song to him & she'd tell me it was because I was sensetive and had a big heart. I've always been proud of those qualities in myself.
I digress... I've had a difficult time choosing a song for Autumn. There are parts of a million songs that apply to how I feel, or will feel about her. Choosing one is nearly impossible. Here are my top few, in no particular order:
