We are in the process of buying a house. Well, before we get in there I'd like to get everything painted the way I want it. I've already decided that Autumn's room will be "garden" themed but I'd like to add little fairies to that. I'm trying to think about what to paint on the wall. Nothing is over the top because whatever I want can be built by Wes. I want to put a little canopy over her crib & have like little dragonflies and ladybugs all over it. I want little mushrooms with fairies sitting on top of them on the wall maybe. I'd like some lightning bugs, & love bugs, & flowers. My friend Hollie did a huge tree with a swing in her daughters room.
But... I"m trying to think more on a garden level rather than a park. I was thinking of putting a little white picket (sp?) fence on one of the walls... really I'm just open to any kinds of ideas that anyone has. I'd really just like it to be sort of a little garden get away.

I like the picket fence idea. I saw it in a room this weekend, and it was really cute!
I'm not creative, so I don't have any suggestions. I would suggest not making it too busy. If you have so many things in there, it might get overwhelming! When are you planning on doing all of this? I'm already getting tired all the time again and just barely collapsing on the couch at the end of the day.
There are the occasional bursts of energy, but this would be way too big of a project for me!
Well, we close on the house at the end of this month. I'm thinking I can get it done before we move in. I'm never really tired right after work so I'm going to take advantage of that. Plus, if I have in mind what I really want I can get it done in one weekend I think. For example if my background color is a sky blue & I just paint grass & a garden over that... I can just make Wes do all of the blue and I'll do the little detail work.
Everything I've picked out so far is fairly simple (crib stuff) so I was hoping the walls could be the focal point...

I had a friend who did this but she used an actual short picket fence and mounted it to the wall after it was painted - very cute on one wall. You could use the "stuffed" flowers and wrap them around the pickets.
My only suggestion is make it something she can grow into so that it will be appropriate for a little girl as well as a baby.
